⛴ 📰 🍀 🌾 👀 Scoop is an exhibition of artworks by young people living in Norfolk, including Marsh Drawings made by North Yarmouth Scouts and The Green Influencer, a climate-focused newspaper created by History Hunters at Norfolk Heritage Centre. North Yarmouth Scouts began walking from Great Yarmouth town centre, picking litter from foot paths along the River Bure. With binoculars, we spied herons, oyster catchers and avocets, and listened for the reed warbler whilst having lunch . Emily Chittenden, Learning Officer for the Broads Authority, led the walk and guided Scouts on how to craft bracelets from hollow elder branches. Marsh Drawings on display at Anteros Arts Foundation turn our gaze towards the Broads National Park, a portrait by/of the land. Loose reeds were borrowed from the river’s banks and used to paint with mud scooped from the marsh. What would the news look like if it was written by young people? The Green Influencer is an 8-page tabloid newspaper conceived, designed and written by History Hunters, a group of young people who meet regularly at Norfolk Heritage Centre. The Green Influencer examines the public’s perception of climate-related issues and interviews locals addressing the climate revolution. The newspaper is available to collect for free in libraries around Norfolk. |
